Write (in English) about ideas for a creative project we could do in Spanish (la música, el baile, los deportes, la comida, el arte, ¿algo diferente?) and how we could do a practical and research part for it. martes 11/17 En clase: -Finish 1.1 Test (if you were working at the blood drive, we will arrange a time for you to finish) -Tarea: Research Cuban immigration to the US. When/what were the big waves? Find 2 famous Cubans who came to the US - why are they famous and how/when did they come? (English) Remember to finish these if you haven't: Actividad 15 paragraphs. Creative Spanish Project ideas (English), finish reading Soñar en cubano with ¿Comprendiste? and ¿Qué piensas? questions in complete sentences miércoles 11/18 En clase: -Prayer: Alyssa -Rules for stress in Spanish -Discussion about our research: waves of immigration from Cuba to the US. (If this topic really interested you, check the newest post where I have attached the article I found about it) -Discuss famous Cubans who came to the US -Thanks Emily for sharing about your experience on the cruise picking up fleeing Cubans -Read through Soñar en cubano in Spanish Tarea: none. Monday will begin Round 3, I will explain what that entails tomorrow. -Discuss more the balseros group of immigrants, how their coming on rafts, parallels the Syrian refugees today -Read/translate Soñar en cubano segment. -Discuss what is happening and how Pilar feels about her current life and the life they abandoned in Cuba...sadness, anger, separation, nostalgia -Discuss ¿Comprendiste? and ¿Qué piensas? questions Tarea: none. Make some Cuban food for tomorrow. viernes 11/20 En clase: -Next round of prayer will be praying for current events, we will decide the order on Monday -Food day!
