There are a huge number of latinos en el béisbol. Every year the MLB honors them with hispanic heritage month.
There is a campaign to put the accent on Spanish names in the MLB, on jerseys and in media. Besides aiming to correct spelling by putting correct ''marks'' on players names, it also highlights the ''mark'' that these latino players have in their communities!
