En clase: -Discuss hispanic vs. latino -Do preguntas personales on pages 48-49 -Listening: pg 50-51 En Vivo and do preguntas de comprensión as a class Tarea: write 5 sentences about yourself using the vocabulary. *Remember: you can use tengo or soy, don't use both in one sentence -Tengo pelo castaño (I have brown hair) OR Soy castaño (I am brown-haired) martes 10/27 En clase: -Finish Comprehension questions -Actividad 4 en parejas -Actividad 5 as a class (around the room) -Si tienes, eres, llevas...vas a la derecha/la izquierda, levantense si... (practice with vocabulario) -Discussion about what language we think in (the language we speak). Everyone in the world doesn't think in English, they think in the language they speak. It is easier to think in the language we want to speak rather than think it in one language, translate it in our heads, and then speak it in a different language, so when we study Spanish, we are training our brains to think in another language that has its own way of expressing ideas. Remember that the letter with the accent is the one you stress in pronunciation. Use each of the subject pronouns in the blue puzzle piece, choose the corresponding form of ser from the orange puzzle piece, and choose a profession to finish the sentences. To make a noun plural (if you have plural pronoun and verb forms), add -s if it ends in a vowel, -es if it ends in a consonant: policías, doctores Also read Gramática: Using ser de to express origin (pg 35). We will start with this in class tomorrow! viernes 10/9 En clase: -Accents are important!! como = like/as ¿cómo? = how tu = your tú = you esta = this está = he/she is, you are (formal) el = the (masc) él = he estas = these estás = you are (familiar) como esta = like this ¿Cómo está? = how are you (formal) como estas = like these ¿Cómo estás? = how are you (familiar) Accents on these 5 words are must haves, and points will be taken off on quizzes and tests for not having them when needed. You must also remember the ñ. It is a different letter than n! -Repaso Rápido: ser and ser de. -Actividad 13 en parejas (speaking only) -Actividad 14 as a class (speaking only) -Puzzle activity: subject pronouns, forms of ser, professions Tarea: Ser practice sheet.
